The truth about our private jet, by P-square 31 March, 2013 Arts and Entertainment They are ever busy, taking their music around the continent where they are arguably the most popular act from Nigeria. Peter Okoye, one-half of the energetic choreographers and twin singers, P-Square, spoke to VICTOR AKANDE, Entertainment Editor, recently.     HOW do you feel that your latest single, Alingo, has been banned?   I heard of the ban, but, honestly, reasons for the ban were not specified. But what we have noticed and they haven’t is that when you ban a song you only make it popular. Banning a song on Nigerian channels doesn’t mean much because the major international channels still play the videos.   What really was the reason behind the video?   For a few years now P-square haven’t made a dance video and our fans have been anticipating, so we just decided to give them that. Alingo was a freestyle that we did even before th

Kanye And Kim To Name Their Child Khrist? As In Christ With a 'K'? 1 April, 2013 Arts and Entertainment Well, that's if you believe Radar Online. Below is how they are reporting it A new report claims that a different frontrunner for the Kimye baby has emerged — Khrist. As in, “Christ with a K,” according to Naughty But Nice Rob.“Kanye likes the name Khrist,” an insider says. The source is also smart to point out that Kanye has a new single coming out titled, “I Am a God,” so blasphemy isn’t really an obstacle for him: “I know it is shocking, but let’s remember that this is a guy that is naming his new CD, ‘I Am A God.’ So it makes perfect sense that the child of a god would be named Christ with a K.” Well, let's just hope this is another rumor or he just might be biting way more than he can chew

Why I Didn’t Talk To Fela For Six Years – Femi Kuti 1 April, 2013 Local Fela Anikulapo’s son, Femi, reveals what people didn’t know about the late Afrobeat musician. Why did your father choose a controversial lifestyle? It was because he was too honest about his way of life. He liked women and he did not hide it. He liked to smoke marijuana and he did it in the open. Many people like women but they do it secretly. There are so many brothels all around the world but Fela never patronised them, many people go there to pay for sex. You will be shocked to know the number of people that smoke marijuana in Nigeria and all over the world. I hope you know that some countries are legalising the smoking of marijuana now. He was truthful about his way of life while many of us are hypocritical about ours. Many people were envious that he was too honest and bold and that was why there were so many controversies about his life. Most of h

"I almost died" - Lil Wayne

"I almost died" - Lil Wayne 1 April, 2013 Arts and Entertainment Lil Wayne nearly died following his latest seizure.   The Lollipop hitmaker has confirmed he is epileptic and says his recent bout of attacks earlier this month nearly finished him off after his heart rate decreased to '30 per cent'. Speaking to radio station Power 106, he said: '[I’m] prone to seizures. This isn't my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I've had a bunch of seizures, ya'll just never hear about them. 'But this time it got real bad 'cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 per cent. Basically, I could've died.' Earlier this month, Wayne spent six days at California's Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's intensive care unit (ICU), where he was treated after suffering his latest seizure. He was later released from the me

Nasri Drives Me Mad - Mancini

Image
Nasri Drives Me Mad - Mancini 1 April, 2013 Sports Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini admits Samir Nasri's inconsistency makes him wish he could 'punch' the Frenchman. Nasri's ability has never been in doubt, with City having splashed out £24million to secure his services from Arsenal in 2011. He impressed during his debut season at the Etihad Stadium, as he helped to land the Premier League title, but has been criticised at times this term for an apparent lack of effort. Nasri was, however, back to his best during a crushing 4-0 victory over Newcastle United on Saturday and Mancini is confused as to why the 25-year-old cannot perform to those levels on a more regular basis. He said: "I would like to give him a punch, because a player like him should play like this always. "Every game. Maybe one game sometimes he can play badly. "I don't understand what was different. I can't understa

Saudi Arabia Threatens To Ban Skype, WhatsApp 1 April, 2013 Foreign Saudi Arabia has warned that “suitable measures” would be taken if providers of internet messenger applications such as WhatsApp fail to comply with its rules, days after the industry said authorities wanted to control such traffic. “Some telecom applications over the internet protocol currently do not meet the regulatory conditions” in the kingdom, said the Communications and Information Technology Commission in a statement carried by the official SPA state news agency on Sunday. Wenger Wants Gervinho To Relax

Image
Wenger Wants Gervinho To Relax 1 April, 2013 Sports Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger does not consider Gervinho to be 'clinical' but feels he would get more goals if he relaxed. The Gunners saw their Ivorian forward lead from the front against Reading on Saturday, as he broke the deadlock in a comfortable 4-1 success. He also provided two assists at the Emirates as he put in arguably his best performance for the club to date. Wenger was not surprised by the standard of Gervinho's showing and believes there is the promise of more to come from a man who needs to have greater belief in his own ability. "Honestly, he is not a clinical finisher," said the French tactician. "When he is completely relaxed, he's quite good. "He rushes his finishing because when he arrives in front of the goal he wants to get rid of it. "The big goalscorers just pass it in and that's what he has to learn."
