Please Stop This Embarrassment Called Mrs. Patience Jonathan

Image
16 July, 2013 Politics By Joe Igbokwe Nigerians must speak out now to stop this embarrassment called Mrs. Patience Jonathan. Those who knew this woman before President Goodluck Jonathan became the President told us that what is unfolding today at the presidency had been a reoccurring decimal when Jonathan was a Deputy Governor, a governor and Vice President. We were told then that Mrs. Patience Jonathan must always have her way no matter what is at stake. We heard stories of bizarre things that happened in her days at Bayelsa State House as Deputy Governor’s wife or the Governor’s wife. All these were ignored because she was confined to a small State called Bayelsa but now she is the Nigerian first lady, events are unfolding and they are so unhealthy to the presidency and governance of the country. Shortly after President GEJ was sworn in as President, her deficiency began to manifest. Comportment, carriage, finesse, decency, prestige, honour and glo

Read TB Joshua's Big Prophesy for Nigerian Youths

16 July, 2013 Features Nigeria-based televangelist Pastor T.B. Joshua of the Synagogue, Church of All Nations on Sunday shared a message for  job creation with a call to include the youth in decision-making positions or risk mass unrest. T.B Joshua, speaking during a live service broadcast on his Emmanuel TV, said: “I am seeing a revolution. I am seeing people take to the street. At the beginning of that protest, it might be stopped. Eventually, it will become so big that it cannot be stopped.” In the message entitled ‘Carry Your Youth Along’ the prophet, however, said there was a way out and cited job creation for the youth and the creation of a new social value system. This, he said, was because 90 percent of the youth have come to believe that it was by becoming political thugs that they could be successful, especially because those in the political offices do not want to retire and become statesmen.

"No, we are not their enemies and we are not trying to stop food from entering their area. We are only implementing government policies on the illegal smuggling of rice. This is in the interest of all of us because it will allow farmers in our country to do well,” he said. He urged clerics and traditional rulers in

15 July, 2013 Local Umar Ardo, a gubernatorial aspirant in Adamawa State under the platform of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said President Goodluck Jonathan’s is not eligible to contest the presidency in the 2015. “The president himself promised not to contest in 2015 during his 2011 electioneering campaigns. Now a leader’s word must be his bond,” he said. Q: There have been calls from some persons for President Jonathan to re-contest in 2015. Do you support such calls? A: No, I don’t support such calls because of many reasons. Firstly, because I distrust the motives of those leading these calls: Chiefs Edwin Clark and Tony Anenih, among many others. There is a moral angle to it. The president himself promised not to contest in 2015 during his 2011 electioneering campaigns. Now a leader’s word must be his bond. All through history, the most essential ingredient for leadership has always been character. Although other ingredients such as
