Facebook Loses A Million South African Users 9 April, 2013 Foreign Social networking site Facebook has seen its South African user-base drop by nearly one million in the past six months, according to a report on Monday. Statistics from social media monitoring company SocialBakers showed that 967 220 users have not logged on to the site in the past six months, reported The Star. This was a decline of 17.7%. The numbers also indicated that people aged between 18 and 24-years-old were the biggest group of Facebook users. Meanwhile, another study conducted by World Wide Worx and Fusewire found that an increasing number of people over 60-years-old have taken a liking to the site.

He was arraigned on a two-count charge of conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and unlawfully locking out his tenant before Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria. The landlord alleged that his tenant, Chukwunonso Okafor and his family were responsible for his missing chicken and locked all of them inside their rooms from morning till evening, insisting they must produce the chicken. Earthquake Threatens Iran's Bushehr Nuclear Power Station 9 April, 2013 Foreign A 6.3 magnitude earthquake has struck in south-west Iran, not far from the country's only nuclear power station, the US Geological Survey reports. The quake's epicentre is 89km (55 miles) from Bushehr, the USGS said. People on social media reported feeling the quake across the Gulf in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. There is no word yet on the extent of any damage. Iran's nuclear programme is the subject of international concern amid fears it is trying to build nuclear weapons. Tehran has always insisted its work at Bushehr and other sites is for civilian purposes only. The USGS said the quake struck at 11:52 GMT at a depth of 10km (6.2 miles). Iran's seismological centre in Bushehr province, linked to Tehran University, registered a 6.1 magnitude quake close to the town of Kaki, some 60 miles south of Bushehr.

Gregory John Channing, 41, and Gary Stewart Miles, 40, are facing a murder committal hearing in the Darwin Magistrates Court. The prosecution told the court Mr Stamp was living with Miles at his Darwin unit in April last year. The court was told Miles and Channing had warned Mr Stamp not to drink any of their beer. It is alleged the pair bashed Mr Stamp when they found he had drunk one of their beers.
