Tuesday, October 13 marked Day Two of the 2015 edition of Felabration, a celebration of the musical heritage and life of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. The event centre on Day Two was filled to overflowing as fans trooped in to watch their favourite acts perform. The show was opened by the Obadikah Brass Band, who came all the way from Ghana, and closed by Remi Aluko. It is believed that at least two out of the three senators from each state must endorse the nomination of a ministerial nominee before the confirmation can be carried out. However, the endorsement by two senators of a ministerial nominee would not be the only yardstick for confirmation, as the Senate will consider other criteria. The statement which is beginning to cause agitations among the masses was made by Obasanjo following a briefing made to President Muhammadu Buhari on his delegation’s mission to study Columbia’s effort in the war against the separatist group- FARC. Nigerian Senate Continues Ministerial Screening Exercise

The Senate will today, October 14, commence another round of ministerial screening after 10 nominees went through the procedure yesterday. On Tuesday, October 13, the Senate screened 10 nominees: Udoma Udo Udoma (Akwa Ibom state), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti state), Audu Ogbeh (Bayelsa state), Ogbonnaya Onu (Ebonyi state), Osagie Ehanire (Edo state), Abdulrahman Dambazau (Kano state), Lai Mohammed (Kwara state), Amina J Mohammed (Gombe state), Suleiman Adamu (Jigawa state) and Ibrahim Jibril (Nasarawa state). But, with 21 nominees from ‘batch A’ and 16 nominees from ‘batch B’ , the screening exercise is billed to take three days. Day two of the proceedings will witness the remaining 11 ministerial nominees from the first batch, address questions and issues raised at the floor of the Senate.
