Dubai cops patrol in $550K supercar 1 day ago By Clifford Atiyeh of MSN Autos share 394 tweet 13 pin it 6 email What does a city full of supercars need to keep its streets safe? Apparently, another 217-mph supercar. Nothing to see here -- just a Lamborghini Aventador patrol car keeping watch on those mean streets of Dubai. We originally thought an Aventador with a light bar was another dumb decal job meant for tacky supercar rallys like the Gumball 3000, but the Dubai Police have confirmed that yes, this Lamborghini is here to show " how classy Dubai is ." In a city bleeding with tax-free wealth and unregulated banking, supercars dot Dubai's streets like buskers in Manhattan subways. Nearly every YouTube video shows the same shot: multimillion-dollar strings of exotics valeted at the Mall of the Emirates , which just happens to have its ow

FIFA Rankings: Nigeria’s on a Little Slide

FIFA Rankings: Nigeria’s on a Little Slide 12 April, 2013 Football Super Eagles midfielder, Sunday Mba has voiced his displeasure at the latest monthly rankings released by world football governing body, FIFA. Nigeria dropped one place in the classification for March as their 757 ranking points saw the African champions slip to 31st in the world and fourth in Africa behind the Ivory Coast, Ghana and Mali. Nigeria was previously ranked 30th after racking up 775 points but slipped a solitary place after a less-than-fruitful month following a 1-1 draw against Kenya in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying game in Calabar. Mba, who impressed for the Super Eagles at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, however does not believe the draw against the Kenyans is enough to see Nigeria drop in the rankings. “I am not happy with the rankings but FIFA knows best. We must respect their decision but I don’t think we played

It would seem more people have toed the path of the unfortunate show promoter who has since learnt that when it comes to Naija, the Internet is not a very good place to do business as it is crawling with fraudsters. However, obviously agitated at the rate at which fraudsters are swindling show promoters both locally and internationally while posing as artiste managers, the P-Square twins have issued a warning to their fans. Image
Samsung Unveils 6.3in Galaxy Mega Smartphone 12 April, 2013 Information Technology Samsung has unveiled the biggest smartphone to date – the Galaxy Mega, which features a 6.3in (16cm) screen. The firm suggested its size made it ideal for watching videos or running two apps alongside each other. Samsung helped popularise the so-called “phablet” category – in which phones approach tablet dimensions – with its original 5.3in Galaxy Note in 2011. That proved more popular than many expected, but one analyst suggested the latest device might be a step too far. Samsung is marketing the Android-powered handset as having a high-definition screen – however, a spokesman was unable to confirm whether it supported 720p or the “full HD” 1080p resolution. Another South Korean firm, Pantech, currently lays claim to offering the biggest “full HD” smartphone with its 5.9in Vega No 6 which was announced in January. China’s Huawei had previously boasted h

Presidency Scared As Boko Haram Rejects Amnesty

Presidency Scared As Boko Haram Rejects Amnesty 12 April, 2013 Local The Presidency has launched a desperate mission to salvage its shattered amnesty-for-Boko Haram programme. The fundamentalist sect rejected yesterday the planned clemency for its members, saying it should be the one to pardon the government. Some prominent Northern elders believed to be close to Boko Haram have been enlisted to prevail on the sect to embrace peace. But a rights activist, Comrade Shehu Sani, who once facilitated talks with Boko Haram, said the rejection of amnesty by the sect should be expected because the Federal Government failed to do its homework well. Also, a former military governor of Kaduna State, Col. Abubakar Dangiwa Umar, said dialogue with the sect ought to come first before amnesty. To him, the rejection is not surprising. After a parley with all service chiefs last week, President Goodluck Jonathan raised a committee to harness the various
