Ghana Seizes 110Million Faulty Condoms Posted by: Channels Television Posted date: April 19, 2013 In: Health | comment : 0 Comments and 0 Reactions More than 110 million Chinese-made condoms have been seized in Ghana after laboratory tests revealed they were faulty, Ghanaian officials have said. “There are holes in them and… the condoms burst easily,” a Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) spokesman told the BBC. The condoms were being distributed free as part of an HIV/Aids prevention campaign by the Ghana Health Service. About 200 million of the faulty condoms are believed to have been imported into the country. The BBC’s Sammy Darko in the capital, Accra, says the condom packaging is white with a red Aids ribbon incorporated into the design and the words “be safe” also in red. Tinted Glass Permit is Free, Don’t Pay Anyone – IG of Police 19 April, 2013 Features   The Inspector General of Police (IG), Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, has said that obtaining permit for the use of vehicles with tinted glasses is absolutely free. Speaking on Friday at a meeting with Assistant Inspectors-General of Police in charge of the 12 zonal commands in Nigeria, Abubakar said the process of “obtaining tinted glass permit is free of charge, and there is no amount of money written there for anybody to pay.” According to him, “Motorists should not allow any policeman, anywhere to subject them to paying charges that are not officially, legally and legitimately stated.” The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reported that the clarification of the IG was against the backdrop of renewed clampdown on motorists driving vehicles with tinted glasses nationwide. Truman Edley, who was just 15 at the time of his death, hanged himself in the hallway of the family home in Rotherham after he had been listening to the violent music. A coroner refused to name the band he was listening to or publish the extreme lyrics which formed part of the evidence at the inquest in Rotherham. Sokoto, whose real name is Kabiru Umar, was arraigned amid tight security before an Abuja Federal High Court presided by Justice Ademola Adeniyi. The arraignment was initially slated for March 20, 2013, but the absence of counsel for the accused person stalled the process.
