Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson is the world’s highest paid actor.

Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson's bank account is solid as a rock — offering a crystal-clear view of the gender wage gap in Hollywood.
The "Fast & Furious" star was named Forbes' highest-paid actor after taking home a whopping $64.5 million between June 2015 and June 2016.
That's nearly $20 million more than the $46 million that Jennifer Lawrence, the planet's top-earning actress, pocketed over the same stretch.
Lawrence, who has topped the best-paid actress list two years running, trails five men, her earnings sandwiched between Johnny Depp's $48 million and Ben Affleck's $43 million.

The Rock, who starred in "San Andreas" last year, edged out runner-up Jackie Chan, who collected $61 million over the 12-month stretch. Matt Damon, meanwhile, came in third at $55 million.
"Want to say two things about this," The Rock tweeted after Thursday's announcement. "I started w/ $7 bucks. If I can overcome, so can you. Waffle House on me!"
Robert Downey Jr., who had finished first three years in a row, slid down to eighth this year with the paltry income of $33 million.
The stark difference between The Rock and Lawrence's salaries isn't as vast as last year's gap between the top paid actor and actress, when Downey earned $80 million to Lawrence's $52 million.

But the disparity remains evident. On this year's lists, 18 actors made at least $20 million, while a just four actresses reached that number.
And Melissa McCarthy, who finished second among women at $33 million, would have finished in a three-way tie for eighth on the men's list.

Women throughout the movie-making industry — from screenwriters to directors — have long-labored through unequal pay and fewer opportunities.
Of course, the imbalance is nothing new to Lawrence. Last year, the "Hunger Games" star pondered in an eye-opening essay for Lena Dunham's Lenny newsletter, why she didn't make as much as her male counterparts in "American Hustle."
"If anything, I'm sure they were commended for being fierce and tactical, while I was busy worrying about coming across as a brat and not getting my fair share," she wrote.
Lawrence made less than 72% of what The Rock made this year, which translates to even less than the 79 cents to the dollar the average woman earns compared to men in America.
